The Ohio Honda plant along with Wright Patt Air Force Base have been awarded the silver level awards for "Encouraging Environmental Excellence"

The Environmental Protection Agency has stated that Honda achieved “zero landfill waste” early in 2011 and its Ohio operations have stopped using more than 24 million gallons of ground water last year by using a seven-acre pond system to capture rainwater.
